CA reflection

Reflection:
Uses more emotions in my discussion. I should be able to speak without stopping and uses more persuasive techniques. I should also learn to react more and appropriate times. And most importantly, I should learn to stop stuttering

Reflection

I've learnt 5 new vocabularies this week from the Baubab story. I wrote 3 of them in a google docs. When i went home, i tried to make sentence and memorize it.

The comments for our writing in the blog are very useful. It helped me to see what i went wrong and what are my strengths. We did mundane: which helped me to make any subject interesting. I think this is a really good exercise.

I learnt not to rush through my essay and it's not about quantity but quality ( I tend to forget that..)

Watching the clock tick.

My timer was set exactly to 300 seconds. I looked at the clock and thought "300 seconds left..time is short". As I looked down from my fourth floor apartment, fear came rushing into my veins. I was terrorized by the height I was in. 290 seconds left and I gather all the necessary items needed for my departure: A paper, a pen, a knife and I was left with 250 seconds. I watched as the clock ticked slowly towards the future. Every second is a second after the past. I inhaled and exhaled slowly. My eyes grew tired, and I began to yawn. My heartbeat became faster and faster as I counted the seconds passed. 100 seconds left and I'm still here, waiting for the right moment. What do they mean by "Time is valuable" or " Don't waste your time". I have never actually got the meaning of it.

I picked up a book as I looked at the clock: 90 seconds left. "Get a hold of yourself" was the first sentence I read. I began to question myself and started feeling uncertain about what I am about to do. 1 minute left and I began to keep the letter that I wrote to my mom inside a nice colored envelope saying " To my lovely mom". Tears began to role down my cheeks as I checked the time: 40 seconds left. I waited and waited until the time is right, until my gut kicks in saying " Yes! now is the time! go for it". But nothing seems to be happening. 30 seconds left as I lie back on my bed with the sound of my heart pounding loudly in my head. 15 seconds left and there was when my guy kicked in. I hurried and walked towards the window and took the first step on the base of the window.

My mom came barging into the room as she tried to grasp for air. She pleaded me to come back down but I refused. 10 seconds left and I am feeling in doubt of my actions. "8, 7, 6..." and as I was getting ready to jump, my mom burst into tears. "5..4..."and I leaped out of the window and fall to my death while counting "3...2....". In spite of all that, I never knew there was a tree outside the window. As I counted to "1", my body fell hard against the tree and broke my fall. Now I understand the term "Time is precious" because every second counts.

Writing challenge (Shark)

Planning

There was a shark swimming around me- i was in danger but i got away.

1) What am i doing?- friend drowning, save her

2) What happen? The engine broke down, we're stuck

3) What did my senses tell me? (throw a fridge with meat down)

4) Someone with a jet boat came and help us.

5) I was in danger, but i got away.

The sky was dark and the wind was blowing furiously at the speed boat. My friend, Stephanie and I was going to go shark hunting. On the way there, Stephanie toppled over and fell of the boat into the vast ocean. Surprisingly she couldn't swim, and was trying her hardest to stay alive. I noticed she had a deep cut on her right hand. I knew that she had to get out of the water in time before the sharks came, so I jumped down and save her. Stephanie managed to get out of the water with the help of the boat driver. At a distant, I saw something swimming fast towards us and realized it was the sharks. I quickly tried to climb up to the boat, but I failed.

Sharks came swimming as fast as lightning towards me. It's teeth were as sharp as japanese knives and they have the size of a mini to a medium boat. They look like gangsters, but in an animal form. The next thing I knew, there was a shark swimming around me. I tried not to move, but it didn't work. My heart was beating continuously and I was running out of breath. I had nothing to do but wait. Wait for a miracle to happen. Any minute now the shark will come and attack me.
